Eagle Scout Service Project PDF Print E-mail

EagleScout"While a Life Scout, a Scout must plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project to any religious institution, school, or community. As a demonstration of leadership, the Scout must plan the work, organize the personnel needed, and direct the project to its completion." - Boy Scout Requirements 2011

Life Scout David Carroll will be working on completing his Eagle Scout Service Project this week. We will be painting the Holy Name School Cafeteria, a space that our troop uses frequently for troop meetings and other activities.  The project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 22 at 8:30 AM. Work should continue until about 3:00 PM or so. We anticipate working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided on those days.  All current scouts are required to support at least one day of the project.  So grab your favorite painting shirt and a roller and come help David as he continues his climb towards becoming an  Eagle Scout. If you can come support David and his efforts contact him directly.

Scout Sunday 2011 PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 28 January 2011 19:31
Scout Sunday 2011"A Scout is Reverent. A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others."

The Boy Scouts of America was founded on February 8, 1910. In celebration of Scouting's founding, the Sunday preceding Feb. 8th is designated as Scout Sunday. This year that is February 6th. It is a time to thank the Lord for the Boy Scouts of America, the Worldwide Scouting Movement and for all the wonderful things that Scouting does for our young people. The Troop will meet at the Scout Center at 10:00 AM. We will attend the 10:30 AM family mass at Holy Name and then have a reception and awards ceremony following mass in Shepherd's Hall. All scouts and their families are invited to attend. Even if you are not Catholic, feel free to join us for mass and/or the ceremony afterward.
